Syntheses of novel disperse dyes based on arylazophenols: Synthesis, characterizations and applications

ABSTRACT. Three compounds, phenyl propenone, p-tolyl and bromo phenylpropenone derivatives 3a-c were produced in good yields via condensation of acetophenone with dimethyl formamide acetal (DMFDMA) presence xylene as a solvent. Compounds 5a-f by coupling the enaminones diazonium chloride 4a or 4b. reacted acetone to create novel disperse dyes 9a-f. Mass spectra, (FT-IR), elemental analysis, 1H-NMR spectra used confirm chemical structure new dyes. The dyeing polyester fabrics at low temperature, colors ranging from yellowish brown dark obtained. Thus, different fastness properties these dyed studied, which gave excellent results. Finally, biological activity was showed that they have against bacteria fungi.
